Social Media helps humanize the police departments by allowing the police force to connect and converse with the general public, but more importantly, it provides a platform for police officers to share multiple types of information quickly and respond to tips from civilians.  Trooper Tracy Lillard will show several ways she utilizes Social Media in Law Enforcement with the most effective one being humor.  Tracy was the high school class clown that became a state trooper.  Her use of photos, quick wit, ridiculous hashtags, and interesting conversation starters have grown her social media following to several hundred thousand.  Her innovation and use of humor within the Illinois State Police social media has created a new understanding from the community about what police officers are about.  She is humanizing the badge by entertaining, educating the public, and sprinkling a bit of humor everywhere.
